went down to alexandria hospital happily expecting an ultrasound scan (of my heart, you dolt, not my uterus! not that i have one...) because, as my appointment letter officiously tells me, it'd be illegal not to under the enlistment act, provision number nine, or something like that.

made the trip there and uncovered a spectacular bureaucratic foulup. apparently the army clerk who made the appointment for me wrote down the wrong date on my letter. so here i was at the specialist clinic, with one of the staff apologetically explaining that the senior cardiologist was not around.

screw the army.

so mum, who fetched me there, got on the phone and had a somewhat heated interview with a corporal (imagine that!) following which he spoke to me for a little while. "who was the person who made that appointment for you? chinese or indian?" i hope he finds that guy who screwed up and give him a court martial.

ok just joking.

so now because the cumbersome machinery of the army bureaucracy won't have it any other way, i have to go down to cpmb on monday to make another appointment. utterly ridiculous; i wonder why they can't just make another appointment on the spot.

i would actually be pissed if this whole incident wasn't so funny.

additionally, this means i'll be stuck in limbo (ie PES D) for at least another month.
