an observation: i realized that philosophy is really not my thing because it just trots around in circles and somehow it doesn't really seem to get very far. (ok sorry to all those budding philosophers out there.)

an emotion (or two): and yes i think i am cynical about ethics and the law. though utilitarianism does appeal to me quite a lot. it is rational.

an opinion: religious sensitivity is very important indeed.

another observation: italian and german unification were carried out by the least italian and the least german states respectively.

a syllogism: diamonds are valuable because they are rare. violists are a rare breed. therefore, violists are valuable. (an alternative proposition: women like diamonds because they are rare.)

a qualification: there are always (or almost always - another qualification!) exceptions to the rule.

yet another observation: i am bored.
