was listening to george gershwin's Second Rhapsody on my discman while walking home from the busstop just now and i realized how at odds the music was to the surroundings - hdb carpark and all. and then i decided that it'd be nice to one day be walking down some busy street in new york (perhaps? or some other big american city? probably new york) with the discman plugged into my ears playing gershwin at full blast.

i think weakening personal links in the information age can be shown in the number of dead links found on each other's blogs. if the blogs are even active in the first place, that is.
we are getting too busy to bother really, about all those empty promises made of we'll keep in touch because inevitably we all drift apart and conversations just grow so inane and irrelevant. it's always about the past (memory) and future (plans) but never about the present. the present isn't shared anymore. so few things are ever shared now. we all talk and it just reminds me of everything is moving apart now like the spinning galaxies blasted outwards by the irresistible energy of the big bang which has never ceased.
eventually all we mean to each other are faded photographs and half remembered names.

i think i am really in a book-in mood. stupid re-bic.
