trying to dig chopin nocturnes but it's hard. it's just not true that one doesn't need musical background to appreciate classical. sure one can like it sure but appreciate? heck no.
happy holidays people! oh i borrowed hitchhikers guide to the galaxy dvd! and reading neil simon plays at a rate of like 5 per day (i only have 8). can probably appreciate (there's the word again) them more if i stop and think about each play after reading it but sometimes lit feels so good when left on its own.
bumming! i swear except for SAT and hist essay i'd spend the first two weeks doing no work.
voluntary unemployment :)
-----------
T.S. Eliot - Preludes
I
THE WINTER evening settles down
With smell of steaks in passageways.
Six oclock.
The burnt-out ends of smoky days.
And now a gusty shower wraps
The grimy scraps
Of withered leaves about your feet
And newspapers from vacant lots;
The showers beat
On broken blinds and chimney-pots,
And at the corner of the street
A lonely cab-horse steams and stamps.
And then the lighting of the lamps.
