kai and i were playing a number guessing game (he was supposed to guess whether the number i was thinking about was odd or even) and i lost, and therefore here i am blogging. (yes the decision to reopen this blog was entrusted to pure chance - or, as kai would have it, his psychic powers.) at any rate, this is the first post in a long time.

the tagboard, on the other hand, will not be up for a while. apparently, kai deleted it and now the only person who remembers the password to tagboard.com happens to be kai's better half.

and the exams are almost over! whee! and we have one month's reprieve (to quote junrong - "i absolutely refuse to use the word 'freedom'") before we are plonked into tekong. one of the great advantages of living in a (relatively) small independent country (cf. israel, south korea, and taiwan) surrounded by bigger, more menacing neighbours. hey, at least we don't have to look for jobs after finishing the a levels like the girls do, in order to fill up the time before university term starts.

which reminds me: kai and i were discussing the... future of this blog (while he was exercising his super psychic powers to guess the number i was thinking of) and we decided that this blog cannot be sustained any longer with tick-tock, clockwork regularity in its posts. (he did complain about being bugged to blog regularly in the past. but come to think of it, after january 2005 it will be difficult for either of us to bug the other to blog. imagine: platoon A jogging past platoon B in dense jungle and someone shouts out "i just blogged! your turn!" not very feasible, that.) therefore, do not come a-visiting every single day expecting a new post.

fun fact of the day: you know you are a little out of date when your parents follow singapore idol more closely than you do.

speaking of out of date-ness -- i think i'd really like to be a historian. one day i would like to write a book. it will probably not sell, though.

anyway, the incredibles is a must-watch show. it's the best movie i've seen in a long time (and because it's me, you can be absolutely sure that it's a very long time) and it keeps you tied in knots (from laughter) from beginning to end. great plot, great animation, great movie.

end of year coming! sigh.
