The Blasted Logic Of It All
(Bunny Cookies Looming Tall)

What does it mean in the end, if scientists manage to prove absolutely that fidelity in people derives from a malfunctioning of the gene which promotes the promiscuity that encourages species-survival? Or if altruism is due to a breakdown in the gene that promotes self protection, if courage is shown to come from a mutation which blocks our instinctive tendency to animal caution? When all such virtues are shown to be genetic failures?

Alternatively, what happens when everything good that we do, that is so hard to do without abstinence, resisting of temptation, everything good which comes so unnaturally, can one day be explained via exact rules of social conditioning?

I ask this because I think morality is a romanticized fiction. Because we do not yet know exactly of the linear firing synapses, see the underlying chain of chemical biological reactions, we do not comprehend that there is ultimately an iron-clad, mechanical logic underlying everything, and end up respecting and revering this illusory spontaneity of emotions, thought, free will, not seeing how it has all been predetermined by childhood influences, ancestral genes, causal effect.

Once we idealised weather changes, seasons, bad luck and other natural phenomena, and turned them into powerful gods, only to later scientifically dissect and deconstruct them with the gaining momentum of increasing knowledge. Perhaps when the phenomenon of humans becomes exposed, the myths of honesty, artistry, creativity, bravery and other cherished altars of humanism will fall, will lose their followers. That day as surely coming as I am already an atheist.

Watched a lot of movies recently! happy happy happy

watched hitch today, it is really funny and sometimes very sweet. this movie is for couples.
a very long engagement is to be seen if you've forgotten what an excellent movie is like, or if you stopped believing that movie and art are very close relatives.
Sideways is good only because movies stopped being about the emotions and characters of ordinary lives. if a lot of movies did that they together with sideways would be deemed boring and irritating. but right now, sideways is freaking good.
having watched ray, it stops being surprising that such an acclaimed movie only won best actor, the directing and stuff were total disasters.
precinct 13 is standard feel-good braindead fare! if yur bored, why not.

to be watched: moving castle, robots, a series of unfortunate events, maybe heffalump.

attending cha's graduation parade was quite fun, firstly because the sentries at SAFTI (super high ranking people) called me sir :)

and while i was lost inside OCS, looking for the parade square, this car stopped and the guy asked me where i was going, and then told me to hop into his car so he can drive me there! and while he was talking to me in the car i turned... and saw 3 craps on his shoulder...

COLONEL! OMG

haha but a part of me can't believe i'm flabbergasted by such stuff now... last year that wouldn't have meant a thing. have being a non-civilian for too long, oppressed by 3rd sergents too long, i'm now so easily impressed.

--------

so anyway what equips one best to go ocs? now we know: Civilian attire.

And it was sad that for cha's graduation parade the female soldiers didn't throw their headgear into the air, like we did... especially when they were wearing helmets.

----

ok i dunno why this post is so weird either, i guess it's cause i'm very sleepy. don't bother bothering with this post.

hmm blogspot.com might be a typo or deliberate misarrangement of blogpost.com

ok i'm going to stop trying to win the battle against incoherent blogging now
