prom was fun! it was, somehow, the end of some things, and the beginning of others. (generic description that can be applied to many other events, such as the space between each breath - it's the end of the last expiration and the beginning of the next inspiration. no pun intended.) but then again, it felt very much like an End. much more an end than a beginning, at any rate, or perhaps because a beginning can only be realized in hindsight. (unless it's a loud and flashy beginning with a name to it. like, say, orientation.)

i realize that while everyone else looks bloody glam, i managed to look even more academic. perhaps i should be envious.

on a sidenote, just realized that singapore idol logo looks like the ford company logo.

and anyway i think beginnings are such because at the moment of the beginning we never know what is to come but we only know what had happened. therefore when people do talk of beginnings they do it deliberately vaguely. like 'beginning of a new era'. but they wax lyrical about ends. perhaps it's a natural human tendency.

but anyway prom was great and everyone looked nice. all styled up and made to look more impressive then usual. (of course) which was highly interesting. do hope we can all keep in touch - it was really the definitive end to a very fun period of JC, and the beginning of... well i don't know, a new era.

on another note, bad things have been happening over this month. (not talking about prom) perhaps life is a sine curve, as someone else (can't remember who) said. up and down. up and down. up and down ad infinitum. so this is a payment for nice things having happened in the month before this. (or perhaps because i'm really just Not Good Enough.) in this state of affairs pessimism is a preferred state of mind. so i'm expecting my oxford rejection letter to come in soon.

humdumdeedum. i'll miss school, and most of all i'll miss the class.
